Abstract
The dimorphic ash (Fraxinus dimorpha) agroforestry parks are spontaneous, open stands that are quite rare in the Moroccan Atlas. This endemic tree provides both solid and flexible wood for the manufacture of house roofs (beams and poles), and an especially high-quality forage in autumn. In the Aït M’Hamed area (Central High Atlas), these stands are regularly pruned according to very precise cycles: for a same individual tree, pollarding every 4 years; and conservation of some very straight stems to be exploited during the next cycle (8 years) as poles, or left again so that they become beams. Another remarkable practice concerns the construction of low stone walls to protect overgrazed trees from the teeth of livestock («tahboucht» in Berber). The young regrowths are then selected and linked together to anastomose over time and constitute a single trunk. This traditional technique results in a 31% increase in forage leaf productivity compared to a non-anastomosed tree. This results in the formation of particular and functional cultural landscapes. This specificity is both material (landscapes, particular tree resources) and immaterial (accumulation of singular knowledge and practices, cultural and technical heritage), with an obvious territorial anchoring. However, we are here in a case of the construction of local specificities BY and FOR a local society, without necessarily a formal desire for specification, but whose primary function is to respond to local needs, and to participate in the resilience of the socio-ecological system in itself.

Abstract
The recent development of Aleppo pine seeds named “zgoogoo”, represents an important challenge for the rural population of the tunisian High Tell. Its exploitation, limited for a long time to the forests surrounding Makthar, now concerns other forests as well. In the absence of knowledge or previous experience, local communities have innovated, with specific exploitation techniques. However, the overexploitation of Kessra’s pinewood has incited zgoogoo pickers from Ouled Mrabet to migrate to underexploited forests further away, where they found themselves in competition with local pickers. They had to compromise in various ways. The absence of other economic income raising opportunities weakened the territorial anchorage of the most experimented communities in favor of a specialization in zgoogoo exploitation. The loans given by zgoogoo traders, later remunerated by the product, built a complex structure of exploitation and
commercialization, rarely to the advantage of the pickers. The commercialization of zgoogoo and its paths of distribution are still discreet in a new context which is characterized by a rising demand related to the introduction of this product in the agro business industry by multinational firms and to the extension of its uses. When reaching maturity, the plantations offer a wealth of
zgoogoo, which has relatively ameliorated the incomes of the population and consequently has lead to a symbiosis between forests’ communities and pinewoods, that is when resources are managed in a sustainable way.
